Included in the group (see photo below) was Jas Gidda, Todd Gillespie, myself, Larry Mattler, Rich Moulton, Larry Shingleton, Jeff Cramer, and Fred Rohde. We played Miromar, Royal Tee, Pelican Preserve, Stoneybrook, and Westminster golf courses. Most of the days we played 36 holes. Thanks goes to Fred Rohde for taking the photos below and my dear wife Patty, who made chili for the everyone on Saturday night.

Estes Park Colorado I

This past weekend, Patty and I were in Denver, Colorado to attend the Bar Mitzvah of my cousin Harvey's grandson, Harris. On the way to the celebration, we made a side trip to Estes Park. It's about 70 miles from the flat plains of Denver and resides in the beginning of front range of the Rocky Mountains. Years ago, (about 32 or so) Patty I camped in Rocky Moutain National Park. Estes Park is the gateway town for the east entrance to this bit of paradise. This past weekend, we made the drive through Boulder and entered the town. To our surpise, we noted a large elk strolling through Lake Estes. We immediately pulled our rented SUV into the area and observed not only the elk in the lake but also an entire herd lazily relaxing in this mini-park. What beautiful animals they are! We spent about and hour in town and after we saw the elk, we enjoyed a wonderful moutain trout dinner in a quaint establishement in town. After dinner we drove back to Denver and had a great time attending Harris' Bar Mitvah. (Photos below: (1) the large elk wading in Lake Estes, (2 & 3) the herd relaxing in the shade
